What We Lived For

Me, Mom, and Pop,
summer nights
on the rooftop
singing Doo Wop—
Dion, The Duprees,
Little Anthony and the Imperials.
Our harmonies, the velvet
of melted chocolate.
Nothing could unsweeten
the sway and finger snap
of our flock.
