House Keeping

House finches have nested
in the window box…
They chirr and tweet the sun awake
scream insults at fat brown wrens
who come too close…
I miss the ducks and geese
announcing summer’s near…
Tomorrow I’ll sweep the lanai
tidy up the place the finches and I
call home…
