POEM OF THE DAY
December 25
low morning sun. it will disable
the afternoon. an orange-beaked
juvenile cardinal, head of ill formed
feathers, talks its way through the
maple boughs. latent rain drops
leave the canopy as the heat
unfolds the treetops.
