Coming Home

She lived all over the country.
In New York, Massachusetts —
Wherever work and family led her.

But always, always
Her heart beat strongest in
The shadow of Mt. Rainier, and in
The shallows of Puget Sound.

She finally came home.

We scattered her ashes on Hood Canal.
