Indoors

Rain again.
My small daughter and I
root ourselves to bed
together
me reading Little House on the Prairie
Little House on the Prairie
while she folds flying hearts
crisp angles conjoined halves
beatinghers mine
our origami wings like pioneers
with hopeful pockets
set to fly
into the growing season.
