Rainy Day At The Ridge

It always rains here’
I follow her disdainful gaze
Toward a sweaty window
Evergreen trees circle the ridge
Dancing so slightly
To the tune of darkening sky
A dusting of snow waits
Patiently to be reborn
In rivers and streams below
I wrap her purchases and smile
‘Yes’ I reply
