EL RÍO DE LA SIERRA

Serpenteante Brillo
rebana la sierra,
bajando perfuma
a mojado la tierra.

Rellenando huecos,
golpeando en cascada
puliendo lo aspero de
la hirviente piedra.

Revive al carrizo,
al polvoriento infierno
del valle reseco
en lodo convierte.

¡Divina Mezcla!

Del gris cielo, azulado reflejo.
regreso del alma labriega
al humilde que espera.

MOUNTAIN RIVER

Serpentine Sparkle
slices the mountain,
its moist scent perfuming
the earth as its descends.

Filling up hollows,
pounding in cascades,
polishing down the roughness of the boiling rock.
It revives the reeds,
the hot dusty inferno
of the arid valley
is turned to mud.

Divine Concoction!

Of sky gray, reflection in blue,
return of the laboring heart
to the humble soul who waits.
