River

My name is River.
                          I fear my raging waters
                     roaring through cities,
                         tearing through canyons
                           Creating chasms to be crossed
by creatures much gentler than I.

                             My name is River.
                                 Hush…
                       Listen   as I meander
                         through pastoral lands.
                     Come sit awhile by my
                                still waters,
                        As still my waters flow.
