Rush

It started
as a drop
grew into a torrential downpour,
washing away colors, tuning out the taste of dust
Settled in Lake Washington– a shadow
cast over the hopeful boats
Stormed
over hills; a coalescence of power and sea
Floated away to the Pacific
and became something beautiful
