Ripples

This lake drinks
        from the lawns and lilacs around it:
            NO CHEMICALS!
     Leaps
        with rosy trout,
            big ones too smart to become dinner;
     Feeds
        their sprat to osprey,
            heron, diving ducks;
     Welcomes
        otters, who rest on our dock,
            kissing each other;
     Enjoys
        swimmers.
            My hot skin feels the water smile.
