Double Bluff Beach

Seagulls swoop and call
in a language we don’t know.

The sun hides behind clouds
like Schrödinger’s cat.

I want to remember you
like this forever–

the look between us,
then our mouths opening and closing
over and over,

until our bodies turn to water,
come back to this shore.
