Stolen Away

I miss the sound of you half-brushing your teeth by the sink
Water running, toothbrush barely moving, you blink.
-”I’m done!”
-”Nice try.”
You grin. Start again.

Five months with overnights severed.
Since the courts stole you away.
Now it’s Sundays, 10am-8pm.

Oh how I wish you could stay.
