Water Babies

My two children
Born of water
Amniotic fluid
Placenta ocean babies
Alert as water sprites that first hour after birth

Waking into this world
Shivering and cold
The deep shelf drop off

They are their own selves now
No more womb swimming but yes
Love can fish in these waters
