“Ocean Child”

The voice of the sea calms me,
Humming gentle songs
In my numb ears.
Kissing my toes with its frozen lips,
The tide greets me.
“Ocean Child, come home.” It pleads;
Pulling my wavering fingers into the body of water,
It bites me.
“Come home.”
Closing my eyes, I jump.
