POET OF THE WEEK

Week of December 11
Te presentaste una tarde
tibia, gris de primavera
llamando a
los ventanales
constante y suave
pero con firmeza.
Invariable y cambiante
de atemporalidad certera
en tu vertical
insistente
me recordaste
tu naturaleza.
Continúa tu descenso,
alimenta lo vital.
En este caos terrenal
existo para siempre
gracias a ti… agua.

You called one
warm, spring-grey afternoon
tapping at
the glass,
constant and gentle
but resolute.
Invariable and changing,
unerringly timeless
in your insistent
verticals,
you reminded me of
your nature.
Continue your descent,
feed what is vital.
In this earthly chaos
I exist forever
thanks to you… water.
EARLY WATER MEMORY Seeing the ocean for the first time. Noticing the light of the sun reflected on the water. Bliss.
FAVORITE LOCAL WATER Puget Sound views from Pike Place Market throughout the day.
TO PROTECT WATER First and foremost, I avoid wasting it.
