Walking along the shore

A shopping cart full of salty puppies
Abandoned on a path by the sound:
Damp from the mid-morning drizzle,
They tumble and play like soft warm foam.
The littlest climbs atop all his brothers and falls back down again.
I’m going to be late for Quaker Meeting.
