Community Poetry Workshops

Our planet and our bodies are mostly water. Every living thing needs water to survive. What does it mean to be connected to water and to each other? Thank you for joining with me this year to write poems together and find out.

All ages and all people—those who thought of themselves as writer as well as those who didn’t—were invited to community poetry workshops to reflect on what water means to our health, our free time, and Puget Sound. Workshop participants wrote poems that they submitted to be published online and on the buses.

Thank you to all of you who joined me and your community poets to share ideas, enjoy artwork, enjoy food, meet people, and create poems on the theme of “Your Body of Water.”

It was a pleasure meeting you,
